Marketing Team Leader

Progressive Educational Events Organization seeking a Business Development Specialist to lead the marketing team. We need your direction, expertise and fresh approach to lead the team to achieve results.

Responsibilities include

  • Calling new and existing clients in order to secure new clients/registrations.
  • Meet with prospective clients.
  • Listening to and responding to the needs of clients to develop relationships, to then translate into business opportunities.
  • Be responsible for meeting with industry to raise awareness of the training facilities we provide.
  • Grow the overall client base
  • Develop brand strategies, executes marketing strategies to ensure profit growth
  • 80-90% of the work is on the telephone, so outgoing and friendly telephone manner is essential.
  • Manage external sponsorships
  • Develops market forecasts and monitors market trends
  • Works closely with  other departments to plan and achieve goals

Skills/Experience Required

  • Demonstrated strong leader who is customer and results orientated.
  • Exceptionally strong communication skills, both oral and written, with an outstanding command of the English language.
  • Energetic personality
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Proven ability to meet targets, be able to manage multiple projects
  • Good project management skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills specifically Excel

Program / Event Coordinator (full-time)

We are currently seeking a Program Coordinator who will also perform minor event coordinating tasks.

The successful candidate must be confident, self motivated, organized and out-going yet professional and a good team player. Superb customer relations skills with the ability to develop and maintain new business and client opportunities are a must.

Role Description

  • Identify, develop, manage, and administer the production of conferences, seminars, exhibitions, and programs for the life sciences industry
  • Conduct research for the program in identifying topics, expert presenters and proposal development
  • Coordinate program materials, marketing campaigns, schedules, files, and equipment
  • Build client relations and provide excellent customer service
  • Contact/interact directly with external clients, speakers, regulatory agencies, attendees, as appropriate, to ensure programs meet high standards of quality and efficiency
  • Some travel to USA and abroad required for the final event

Education Requirements

  • Program of Study in health sciences and/or marketing an asset
  • Minimum College Diploma / Bachelors Degree an asset

Administrative Executive (full-time, Markham head office)

Desired skills and qualifications include

  • Excellent written/verbal English skills
  • Professional phone manner and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong research and database management skills
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience in sales administration and accounting an asset
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration an asset

This is a full-time, entry level position with room to grow


Sales and Marketing/Telesales Coordinator (full-time, Markham head office)

  • Must be comfortable with “Cold Calling”
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills specifically Excel
  • MS Acess considered an Asset
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
  • Marketing
    • Determine and define the various target markets pertinent to the area of expertise
    • Develop marketing plans for program area and communicate to Operations/Marketing
    • Collaborate on the design of specific marketing materials
    • Prepare course descriptions and write-ups
    • Media liaison
    • Writing articles for local, provincial and national publications
