Introduction

Do you have a learning plan that tells what you need to be trained on to do your job properly? Do your learning plans look like a grocery list? Do you have training requirements that you are not too sure about and why they are listed? Or are your learning plans so lengthy that you are wondering why you have the entire SOP index in it? Do you know where to start your training? Do you know when and how to move to the next training level?

In the health care industry, more than 3 % of our employee salary wages are spent on training, one of the largest amounts in the economy. Yet surprisingly, it happens too often that people are not trained on the right things, incompletely trained, or in a training curriculum where one is not always sure if employees are properly trained to do the tasks.

One of the most critical factors to ensure compliance is to make sure people are properly trained for their job, ensure training is provided by qualified trainers and that training effectiveness is verified. Any doubt will jeopardize the quality of the product and compliance to cGMPs. Repetitive human errors and deviations often point to insufficient or inadequate training and failure to reduce them inadvertently raises the interest of a GMP regulatory auditor.

This session will discuss how to design learning plans fit for the position to make sure that nothing is missed or overlooked to ensure safety and quality of both personnel and the product. Also contained in this session will be tips on how to pick the right method to train people and some basics of trainer’s qualifications.
